December 15, 2021 Inclement Weather Distance Learning project
Below is a tutorial for all students, especially those affected by the inclement weather school closure on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. This project was originally intended for in-person class, the rest of my students were able to do this in the studio with me in person. This project is all about snow crystals, how they're formed and how to be creative in drawing and designing your own unique set of snow crystals.
For this project you will need a piece of paper, a pencil to sketch with and something to color with of your choosing.
Below is a video sponsored by PBS Digital Studios, KQED and Deep Look about the science and geometry of snowflakes, as well as my tutorial on how to create this project, and finally a time-lapse of my completing my project for some ideas and inspiration. There also will be a reference photo of dozens of possible snowflake patterns for ideas.
